Turbo Tax 2014

Though the process is long, it is pretty comprehensive and made me go look for some additional docs that I had misplaced.
What's great about it: very detailed, does a good job of listing all deductions.
What's not so great: US Federal Tax laws

2014 Version- Just Keeps Getting Better

I have a stack of old TurboTax disc cases about 12 inches high, so I'm a long-time user. The process just keeps getting better and better.
For example, the new "Obamacare" impact on me is simple because I am on Medicare. I didn't have to answer a bunch of questions to get there. The first question determined that there was no impact- job over.
It's great to see the result of your return right there as you proceed thru it. If I were using a service, I'd have to wait until the end to see that.
The double-checking of the returns are also very helpful, as are the audit tolerances.
TurboTax doesn't bug you to buy extras like Audit Protection. Yes, they do ask, but only once.
The ONLY minor beef- the state e filing cost escalates annually. Seems to me that this should be included in the program cost, like Federal E filing.
I keep coming back and overall I am quite happy with the program. Might I even say "Delighted!"
What's great about it: Ease of Use Accuracy, Interactive

Not as thorough as previous years

I have used Turbo Tax for over 10 years. I will continue to use it. It is a great program for the money.
However I was a little disappointed because I did not get prompted for one of the state deductions that I knew I was eligible for until I re-did my state return and chose to fill in all my information instead of having Turbo Tax automatically finish my state return from the information I put in my federal return.

Turbo Software Concern (Problem?)

Depending on which option you check under Box 14 it can dramatically increase the Federal refund and not affect the State of Maine refund.
Not sure it is correct and the explanations under the tax category pull down menu do not give enough information for me to evaluate the options with diligence.
I suppose the Fed and State Revenue services will contact me if I am wrong in the option I selected. Pretty sure I am OK but your explanations provided could be better.
What's great about it: Easy to use
What's not so great: Inadequate explanations for the options under W2 box 14 and possible software problem.

not as good as before

The program asked me if I used turbo tax before but not if I filed before. It did not ask me about any refund I might have received last year that could have been calculated into this years return. I was left trying to figure out where it belonged and how to calculate it properly. If I was not aware of having to do this ( from previous filings done myself with turbo tax) I would have left it off and my return would have been completely inaccurate.
What's great about it: helpful, detailed
What's not so great: did not ask questions it should have

Yay! Refund

I use Turbo Tax every year. It saves me tons of money as opposed to filing with a tax company in person.
What's great about it: Very quick and easy
What's not so great: nothing that I can think of.

Easy as usual

I started using computerized filing back in the 90's with Parson's Tax Edge. When Intuit bought them out I've been a TurboTax user ever since with one exception. I tried H&R Block once and it was nowhere as complete or as easy as TurboTax.
What's great about it: Easy clear and precise
What's not so great: Some people are upset about some features moving to the next level. But this doen't affect me.
