State Fee SUX

Lack of a free option to transmit a state tax return is all that is preventing this from being an excellent rating instead of average.
State governments prefer the electronic file. People prefer it. Get on board and quit trying to squeeze an extra buck out of the process.
What's great about it: Very fast and efficient
What's not so great: Charges a fee to file a state return electronically

The program is very easy to follow with 1 exception we could not get dates (more than 1) to enter. Possibly we were entering in an incorrect manner.
What's great about it: Straight forward and easy to follow
What's not so great: Dating input difficult

Overall great product ! I thought I did not allow a dependent, it turns out the return was rejected for a dependent who filed their own return. Easily corrected and resubmitted with ease.
No fees for resubmitting , very nice.
Will use again for next year, just as we have for the last ten years.
What's great about it: Ability to get info from previuous return.
What's not so great: Not clear on how many deductions for dependents
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Turbo tax is a efficient way to file taxes. My only complaint is I received a thank you for filing and with a E pin #, however my payment was never deducted from my account and today I went back in and resent it with another saying the federal return had been accepted with the new date being today 4-16-15. I do not want to have to pay a penalty for late payment when it was filed 2 months ago.

I loved the fact that Turbo Tax was able to search and bring up my taxes from 2013 and transfer them over and then take me through the necessary steps to see of anything has changed or not. After finishing entering last years taxes I also loved seeing how different it was from the year before and comparing them. There were some sections that I went through that were a little confusing to understand at first but I was glad that they had explanations for each question more or less which definitely helped out a lot. I would definitely like to see future updates on the sections that had to be filled out with more explanation to it as to what it pertains to. Definitely my highlights were that TurboTax brought up and transferred my information over from the year before which made it easy to fill out 2014 taxes for me. My overall experience was great and will continue using TurboTax in the future. As I have already mentioned I would love to see future updates with snippets of explanations on what some sections that I mentioned were a little confusing to me. These things are just minor tweaks but I still believe would give people like me an even better overall satisfied experience. Another huge thing for me was I loved how TurboTax walked me through the new healthcare law section of this last years taxes because I would of totally been lost without their help so I am very thankful and appreciate that as well. All in all, I love using TurboTax and would highly recommend it to anyone doing taxes on their own!

What's great about it: the option to have you walk me thyough each step or to do it myself
What's not so great: to many pop ups while I'm doing my taxes

4868-submitting tax returns

I believe that submission of the 4868 should be made an obvious option at the end of the tax session. I was confused as to how to submit the form through Turbo Tax
What's great about it: forms are on program, fairly easy program to navigate,
What's not so great: instructions vague on sumission of extensions and payment plans.
