I have been using turbo tax since the mid 90's. Each year the software gets better and easier to use.

Had difficulty paying for State Tax, but customer service helped out greatly. The lady in customer service treated me very pleasantly.

This was my first time using TurboTax and I will not go back. It took a long time to get all of the information filled in, but I am confident that my information is correct, unlike last year, when I miscalculated by $5,000.

I wanted to file my Federal return by mail because of an attachment to form 8283(charitable deductions). I generally attach a spreadsheet detailing my individual contributions. I do this so I do not have to print out a 30 page Fed return because of detail. Since New York State requires an E File return, I cannot mail both the Fed as well as NYS. This year(it was not a problem last year) Turbo Tax would not let me file my Fed by mail and my State by e file. This was a big issue for anyone with an attachment to their Fed return in NYS. It will probably be the last time I will use TurboTax.

Not all the answers are clear when dealing with the paperwork I am presented from banks or employers which leads me to struggle finding the correct place to enter the figures. What the paperwork uses for block titles are not found on a corresponding block on the tax software. Just a disconnect with the various forms and turbo tax.
What's great about it: clean
What's not so great: somewhat clumsy when dealing with unfamiliar deductions
