Frustrated with State return

The bottom line is that there are a number of retirement situations that Alabama does not require taxes from; three of which apply to us: retired educators, retired military, and Social Security. The first time through the State form I was informed that we owed over $2700 to the State because over $80,000 from the five retirement benefits were included as other income. They never should have been there to begin with!
I kept going back to try to correct it but was not able to do so without a great deal of searching. Surely something like this can be caught, highlighted or questioned early in the process when the information is transferred from the Federal 1040?

What's great about it: Love the ease of inputting info for the returns and efiling!
What's not so great: Takes far too long and too many steps to get correct info into Alabama form.

Greed vs preformance

I purchased TurboTax above the less expense competitors because it handled more situations and forms. Instead this year I received a version that did appreciably less at a higher price. Why would I use it again?

I hope I will not have to pay a fee for state e-filing. Nothing said it was deleted.
What's not so great: had to file by mail irs kept rejecting me.for e-filing as of 4/14/2014.

Good Prgram

Everything was easy to do it. Good step by step guidance. The only problem was at the end when I printed a copy. It send you to Adobe and is hard to print.
What's great about it: easy to do it
What's not so great: Easy to print before file and HARD to print after file
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Disappointed with State!!

We have used it for many years and am overall pleased with the ease of use. However, I'm very disappointed to find only one State return is included in the State purchase price! In past years, we have been able to file several state returns (our household return and one return for each of our two dependents). This year Turbo Tax only allows 1 State filing per purchase. If I were aware of this prior to e-filing our joint household return, I would not have made the purchase!
What's great about it: Love the ease of Turbo Tax!
What's not so great: Only 1 State return included with purchase?!?!?!?

For whatever reason it would not let me e-file this year. Said there was no internet connection (although it went online checked for updates then downloaded them).
Real pain. Ran out of paper for printing returns, same with finding envelopes. Racing to post office before work to mail.

Overall Turbotax is OK to use. Navigation can be confusing at times, ie: going back and forth to different sections.
The biggest issue I've had the last couple of years is entering the community property adjustment is confusing. And I am still not sure if i got it correct.
Improvements/elaboration to the instructions would be helpful.

I've always been impressed with the thoroughness of Turbo Tax's ability to work through my deductions and helps me think of next year. This year I entered an error and was able to correct it before the IRS accepted my e-filing. Way to Go!
What's great about it: This year Turbo Tax caught an important error with filing for me and helped me refile appropriately and timely!
