Eliminate unnecessary data - pictures of people I will never meet do not help me file my return as quickly as possible.
Reduce data download times by getting rid of that stuff.
What's great about it: Easy to navigate forms
What's not so great: People profiles

I liked the old way the software looked.

problems but solutions

I have been using TurboTax for the last five years. This year my return was rejected when filing. Why, because I had typed the wrong tax id for a form. However, I had filed to 1099Rs from the same company. The program is not intuitive so it didn't catch it. It did however walk me through fixing it. All in all, I still love my TurbTtax.
What's great about it: easy to follow, step by step walk through
What's not so great: doesn't find the most important error
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Turbo Tax Triumph

Turbo Tax is pretty easy to complete. It does the math, avoiding that common error so possible when doing taxes on paper. It would be helpful to have more complete information on income not common to the general public. Overall, however, Turbo Tax is very good. It's almost fun to fill out the information and watch what happens next.
What's great about it: Directions are easy to follow.
What's not so great: Needs more complete information for some help items..

wouldnt let me efile state

I filed my federal and it was accepted. then I went to file my state and it kept saying I didn't file my federal. This was after I paid to file state. I ended up having to send my state via mail. I'll be expecting my state to be refunded. I've done my taxes on turbo tax for years and never experienced any problems.
Not sure I'll come back next year.

What's not so great: miss step with omitting previous included filing options
