Giddily Exhuberant

I finished performing my employment-specific government mandated currency regulation interface procedural with relative ease, even while mildly intoxicated with spirituous libations. It is to my great pleasure to proclaim that no angry outbursts were made, and no tears were drawn. Therefor, I consider this Intuit Turbo Tax product to be more than sufficient to my expectations, and am willing to give my personal approval for other supplicants of aforementioned procedural to use said product on their related ventures.
What's great about it: So easy, a drunk can do it!

This has been a good product for me to use. It is quick and easy and asks straightforward, directed questions. It makes working through the taxes fairly painless.
What's great about it: Straightforward and Methodical
What's not so great: May not be as in depth for tax savvy individuals

2015 A Year in Turmoil
on April 15, 2015
Posted by: Jaybez
Overall, this was definitely a year of turmoil for TurboTax. The deluxe edition didn't have all of the forms we had come to expect and we had to upgrade (for free fortunately). The biggest issue that I saw was in the filing status, which came up incorrectly and had to be corrected manually. Despite the detractions, the rest of the process was very simple and consistent from prior years. TurboTax makes doing the taxes very easy and should continue to follow the riught formula in the future.
What's great about it: Process was consistent, Made me aware of some deductions I might have missed
What's not so great: Had to upgrade (for free fortunately) for REntal Properties, didn't file my status properly and had to update manually

Relatively Easy but Why do I owe so much?
on April 15, 2015

I have been using Turbo Tax for quite a few years and this time I owed a whole bunch more money to Oregon State. The Federal seems the same but I have never owed as much.
What's great about it: Detailed questions to make it easy to complete
What's not so great: I don't know if I am paying too much. There is not review to see if I am paying too much

Best TurboTax Experience Yet!
on April 15, 2015

Over all, the best tax year experience. Last year, had a lot of confusion over my rollover 401K. Found a letter this year that clearly explained the 16a box. Happy Camper, Bob
What's great about it: Moving previous year data to a new computer greatly improved
What's not so great: 5498 questions had too many answers; a lot to read to understand

What's great about it: Very easy to use and interface
What's not so great: confused when jumping back and forth between software and online

My wife and I filed a joint return.
Several times while entering Federal taxes paid, I was unable to enter the numbers directly into the frames (the boxes were grayed out)). Instead I had to go to the forms site and enter the the data there.
The program mistakenly warned me that I had either previously contributed excess funds to an IRA or had taken excess distributions from an IRA. I don't own an IRA. My wife does, and she's still in her 60s.
Lastly, the software doesn't recognize the existence of the MDR Exemption for senior folks who are 70 1/2 or older (like myself) who are still working and still contributing to an approved 401K retirement program.
Such folks don't have to take MDRs until after they are fully retired.
What's great about it: intuitive (most of the time)
What's not so great: Balky (some of the time)
