I dread doing taxes every year. Then about ten years ago, I used TurboTax, and I have used it every year since.
Ease of use, well structured organization, checks and balances to insure accuracy, built-in forms, carry-over of personal information from year to year, audit checks, linkage checks among inter-connected forms -- TT does it all.
Rather than pulling out your hair in frustration and anxiety, use TT. Make a mistake, and two years from now you'll get a letter demanding payment plus two years of fees and interest. TT makes all that frustration and aggravation go away.
Doing taxes is still frustrating -- but the peace of mind at the result is well worth the cost of the program.
Finally, TT has transformed 5-6 days of uncertainty and confusion into 5-6 hours of step-by-step help. I'll certainly use TT next year.

Poor information, if the version is not compatible with Mac should be listed in the package, no phone calls needed for assistance.
Errors were not easy to find, a waist of time.
Not the Turbo Tax that was amaizing, sad

Easy As Pie

As someone who didn't grow up with a mouse in my hand, but was around for the beginning of the Personal Computer age, I can tell you what a relief it is to use TurboTax to file taxes. The questions are thorough and I feel like I've gotten credit for everything possible (including some things I wasn't familiar with) and the fact that they fill out all the forms for me so I can print them out with complete ease is the best part of the program. With my mobility problems, being able to file my taxes electronically is a Godsend and not having to understand percentages and complicated forms keeps the stress away at tax time. TurboTax calculates the deductions and chooses the higher of the two for my best refund. Since filing is free it's worth every penny I spent on the program. I can't see ever facing tax time without TurboTax.
What's great about it: Quick to do, quick to send return electronically.
What's not so great: None.

cant update

cant update the software, I keep getting an error, and it always freezes at 75%. I may not use t-tax next year.
