I have been using Turbo Tax now for over 10 years and it gets easier every year.
What's great about it: What' not to like, simple and easy!
What's not so great: None
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Consistently accurate and helpful

TurboTax has proven an accurate and helpful guide for our family's tax preparation for years.
They've made a computer-based tax program about as comfortable and personal an experience as it can be.
Thanks!
What's great about it: Accurate; easy to use
What's not so great: Better link to IRS forms would be helpful

I think it has been perfected over past few years.

Was able to do a long form in a matter of a couple of days. turbo Tax does its best to keep up with our capricious tax laws that change from year to year. I feel I have received the best tax credit yet!
What's great about it: Easier to move from one place to another. Also good tip on the routing numbers for direct deposit!
What's not so great: Not a whole lot...most of the cons are because of the ever changing tax laws.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Yet Another Good Experience

Simple to use and roughly the same every year. Years ago, after trying a few, I gave up even considering competing products.
What's great about it: Simple, Reliable, Consistent
What's not so great: Logic Trees can get confusing and boring, especially for the State.

The format for adoption should provide for parents who are legal guardians/custodians. There are no adoption agency involved. But procedure won't let you by-pass that information and go on. Also if above applies, the birth mother is the adoptive mother by birth certificate validation.
What's great about it: Step by step procedure available. Easy to follow.
What's not so great: Adoption form needs to be improved, providing for by-passing adoption agency and information on.

Need more tax code help on the education expenses. Most institutions do not properly categorize expenses into tuition, books, fees, room, and board.

Less Product This Year

The basic data entry is excellent as always. However, this year if one has investments, upgrading to Premier seems to be required. It turns out that investment and small business information can be entered directly into the appropriate forms. There is just no step by step to guide the user. I almost paid for the upgrade, but since my investment and business returns are simple, I just entered the data on my own. It still gets submitted with the returns.
What's great about it: Walks through basics
What's not so great: No longer supports investments and small business (schedule C)
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Awkward to use

When I do my own taxes, I can see my previous year as I go along. This "VISUAL" is very important to me to give me confidence. TurboTax never does an A vs B year comparison that I can "SEE". When it saved my forms, it put x's where my Account numbers go. So, I can't write in the bank routing and account number. This is very irritating and I am still trying to figure out how to "FIX IT " at 10:15pm on April 14th. Since I don't get Tax Form Books anymore, I also don't get addresses or envelope labels for where to USPS mail the forms, and TurboTax did not provide any help in this regard.
What's great about it: Typed Out PDFs when done
What's not so great: Cant compare to previous year as I go along
