I had about as simple a tax return as could be. Last year, Turbo Tax online let me file Fed and State for free. Apparently because I got paid with a 1099-misc rather than a w-2 this year, the online version made me pay for TurboTax Deluxe. It's pretty pricey for us low income folks.
What's great about it: Pretty easy to use.
What's not so great: Pretty expensive for me - I'm super low income this year.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Would definitely recommend TurboTax!

I used to do my taxes myself and then one year I decided to spend the money and try TurboTax. I couldn't believe the difference it made! Where I used to write checks to the IRS, I now receive a refund!

What's great about it: Found me deductions I had not anticipated.

What's great about it: For the most part, Turbo Tax is easy to use!
What's not so great: It dragged one of my previous jobs and wouldn't let me complete file until I said no to all the questions.

AZ state form 322 not completed correctly

I made a tax credit donation and when completing my AZ state return the amount did not fill correctly so I lost the deduction and could not find a way to correct the problem.
What's not so great: AZ State Return error with no way to fix it

easy peasy

I've been using the TT software for years now and am able to confidently file our taxes each year with ease. I generally wait until the end of March to be sure I get the most important updates to the software before filing.
What's great about it: I love that TT imports the prior year and makes it easy to enter my annual data and compare to the previous year.
