Wanted to review what I entered from my W-2...very painful process. Also...still haven't figured out how to save my taxes to my desktop....should be easier

I'm shocked

I was surprised by how much more federal tax I have to pay this year from last year. I'd like to understand why the difference. When I filed a paper return I had the instructions and tax tables to look at. Here I have to trust Turbo Tax.
What's great about it: I'm assuming the return is as accurate as possible, and inexpensive.
What's not so great: I was surprised by my tax bill.

I love getting the cd automatically every year. It has all of your information and as long as there are no changes, you just have to plug in the new numbers. It knows all of your deductions and is very easy to prepare. Why pay someone else to do it.
What's great about it: all information is already there for you. you just have to plug in the new numbers

Tax Return Made Simple

this made doing my taxes this year quite simple. I have been manually doing my taxes for 40 years. Once I used a paid preparer. I wrote spreadsheets to help automate the task however I still had to pour over all the tax worksheets and find wether I was eligible for a deduction.
Turbo Tax made it simple and Iam still able to get into all the forms and schedules if I want to.

Tax Time

I have been using Turbo Tax since 2003 and the product seems to get better each year. It leads me by the hand answering my questions and above all else keeping me out of trouble by assisting me and insuring correct accounting and input.
What's great about it: Step by step instructions with online help easily understood
What's not so great: Can be cryptic and not always easy to review input

What's not so great: Paying more to e-file MO return than to buy my Turbo Tax for the year

easy to use

Even though turbo tax is easy to use I feel turbotax increases their price for the software and than makes you pay to e-file the state when that was included before.
What's great about it: turbotax is easy to use.
What's not so great: I do not like that you have to pay to e-file the state tax. Also the price for turbotax keeps going up.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)
