Not as easy as I thought

Takes you through all items on the return. But when you click on the help it refers you to IRS Circulars, which are not really helpful. It would be awesome if it were in the normal speak instead of IRS mumbo jumbo.
What's great about it: Walked through everything
What's not so great: Answers not always helpful

Been Using TTAX since the DOS days

I've been using Turbo Tax since the 80's on DOS PC's. I've used Turbo Tax every year. Last year I took a tax preparer's challenge to see if they could do better than Turbo Tax. If they could I'd be out of some money. Well, it turns out Turbo Tax could not be beat. Besides the peace of mind, my confidence in Turbo Tax is higher than ever.
What's great about it: continues to get better with every year
What's not so great: need a quick way to see the forms side by side with the interactive interface

Had to mail state after I paid to efile

I paid for 2 state filings. The State of IL had an issue with Driver's license numbers not showing up in system. So both States were rejected. I called the state and got my PIN, and you system does not provide a way to enter your PIN after it is rejected. I have used Turbo Tax for years, but this will be the last year I buy. I will be using different tax software next year. Terrible experience.
What's great about it: Federal Return was easy
What's not so great: State did not function

Easy to do your taxes

I have used Turbo Tax for several years. Always back it up.
They are as up todate as any fp at least from my simple forms.

I have had my taxes done by an accountant for the past 10-12 years but this year since I have been unemployed for 5 years I tried to save money. After 4 days of trying to finish I finally did and I believe it is the best I could do. Looking for deductions other than standard or W2 interest is difficult if you haven't done so recently. Each time I thought of something I had forgotten, I had to search constantly on how to go back and rebuild a filing. I finally had to print every attempt, delete it, and then start a new filing and then compare. Turbotax satisfaction ratings on line are the best and so I have to assume I chose the best.
What's great about it: I assume all laws and regulations are guaranteed in the filing
What's not so great: navigation of the program if everything is NOT average is very difficult there SHOULD be how to section before the start
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Extra $40.00 is not fair

I have always purchased basic, I read the back of the box carefully to insure that I did not need to purchase deluxe, but at the end of doing the calculations, it said that I must pay an additional $40.00. This is wrong. I had read the bad publicity about it months ago, but thought it did not pertain to me. I am very disappointed, and not happy with Turbo Tax this year.
What's not so great: Extra $40.00 is not fair

Another successful year

In all it is easier and cheaper than going to a tax preparer.
What's great about it: Transferring prior information saved a lot of time.
What's not so great: Too many excess forms to print. EI 1040es etc
