not so happy

We have used turbo tax for many years but this year had more difficulty. There seemed to be more questions in the sections and the questions were sometimes not clear. This was the first time that we felt frustrated while using turbo tax. We are not sure if we will use next year. The problem may have been changes in tax laws.
What's great about it: imported previous information
What's not so great: seemed more complicated this year
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Easy refund

Easy filing system which walked me through the different steps. Took very little time to complete the tax papers. Only problem was that the software would get stuck from time to time making it necessary to re-boot the computer or the program. Overall was easy and swift

Great Customer Support!

I had to call customer support because my internet connection was acting up and they have a call-back service so you don't have to wait on hold. Convenient! The lady who called me back (within an hour) was so nice and helped me finish filing my return but my phone died before I could say a proper thank you! It was nice to be treated so considerately when that's really the norm anymore. Glad to be done and have peace of mind it was done right!

Quick and Easy

We have used TurboTax for four years and have never had a problem other than the instructions for Virginia personal property taxes on vehicles. No one to talk with to clarify it each year.
What's great about it: Filling in the blanks and answering the simple questions is the way to do it. Just keep records of your input info,.
What's not so great: Not clear on individual state property taxes especially Virginia.

Last time I just inserted the Disk and the prompts took over. This time the prompts werent clear and it was hard to expect what to expect. More prompts please would make the program easier to open..and ensures owner we are doing it right...

What's great about it: Once its opened easy to follow - less tension,
What's not so great: Clearer directions on what happens as the disk opens into Turbotax.

Guide process is very user friendly. Once you get all your documents then you can do this in an evening. Just enter the data. My wife hates computers, but she loves this as it makes taxes simple.
Did not understand the State Taxable Income. TurboTax showed how State income differed from Federal, but the amount showed as the difference was not the actual difference.
Wish the cost of filing for State taxes was included in the price.

Easy to use format. Clear instructions. Walks even an unsure filer through the process. I especially like the feature that imports prior year's information into the current return.
