I have used TurboTax for a number of years now. Has always worked for me. I don't have a firm grasp on taxes or maybe all that is required - if I did it would be super easy. As I do not it is still relatively easy to walk through everything with TurboTax and get the job done.
What's great about it: relatively easy to use
What's not so great: would be easier if I understood taxes and forms more

Easy!

I'm a CPA, but using Turbo Tax has been my choice for the last 8 years. It's really convenient to have all of our accounts and SSN's set up for a quick and structured entry. The process gets faster every year.
What's great about it: I love how last year's information carries over-it makes it so much faster to get through your data.

confusing pension entries

My mother receives a standard government pension and has had it for ages. I do not know if she used the 3 yr or general rule, it was ages ago. so i had to pick "none of the above" to get the right taxable wages. very confusing and time consuming.
all other aspects are ok but take mercy on the seniors for pete's sake.

Comprehensive and complete

After completing my return, for the 6th or 7th year I thought I would consult a CPA - to ensure I was on track, especially given the fact my wife and I are now retired, drawing pensions and social security. Bottom line - CPA was impressed with the comprehensiveness and accuracy of our return! NICE!
What's great about it: Step by step with supporting documentation and links.
What's not so great: none
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Tax preparation dread be gone

Even with Turbo Tax, I dread sitting down for hours entering information to prepare my taxes. The software is good, but has always been a bit tedious. This years preparation seemed so much easier. Not having to go through sections when I knew I didn't have anything to enter made it easier and quicker. It's a good product. My only cons are the charitable contributions section could be a little more flexible with valuating those items. Also entering local taxes could be a little more clear, but overall a great improvement over previous years.
What's great about it: The 2014 version was so much easier and user friendly than previous versions. I

I like turbo tax but when having a deposit for state refund and it could process since not because it wanted to deduct from federal which there was no refund. I had to enter in a credit card.
