Hated this years Turbo Tax
on April 14, 2015
Posted by: LaurieSM
It seems this year's TT was much harder to use.
There was no "help on this page" button.
I don't want a community answer I want a TT answer.
The back button took me to various places, frequently not back to the last page.
One aspect of TT I've always been annoyed at is still on this year and that is when you are going through questions and hit the "done" button, it doesn't go to the end of the question list, but back to the top. True it's only a scroll down, but it bugs me every time.
What's great about it: I've used it for years, so I was familiar with it
What's not so great: Poor helps, bounced around

Turbotax loosing its turbo

You also took the stock income off the deluxe version but didn't seem to lower the price and waited until the last minute to inform the public. Stay transparent. I also hope the health insurance section becomes more clear.
What's great about it: used for years like the layout, don't change that, the tabs are the same and repeat users can navigate well
What's not so great: this years health insurance was difficult and I'm not sure I could answer correct.

What's not so great: Not so easy to go back to any completed areas or forms.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I moved

Every year - no problem!
on April 14, 2015

I used to use an accountant and about 5 years ago I switched to Turbo Tax and have never had a problem. The amount of time it took me to compile all the papers for my accountant was about the same amt. of time it takes me to do my own taxes with Turbo Tax. The money savings is incredible compared to my accountant. Love this tool - will continue to use for years to come!
What's great about it: Quick, easy, thorough.
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Always easy to use

I use the deluxe version, probably for the last 15 years. Never had a problem. Yes, there are times when you do need a tax professional for those times when you are self employed or a contractor. Turbo Tax has always been reliable, and it has just gotten better throughout the years.
What's great about it: Cheaper than an accountant or tax professional
What's not so great: Of course government changes arn't always explained

Have used TurboTax for the past four years. Love the ease of filing my returns (not that I love filing returns). TT does take some of the sting out of it though.

Process goes very smoothly
on April 14, 2015

Overall, entering all data went very easy and was completed without any hassles. The product seems to improve each year. I have been a user since 2000. Thanks for a great product.
What's great about it: Just easy to use process for entering information.
What's not so great: Did not see a way to add my own detailed items that were donated and not in the predefined listings for 'It's Deductible

Confusing Transition
on April 14, 2015
Posted by: Mamahoney
The transition from efiling Federal tax return to printing State tax return is confusing. It acted like I was done, and I had to go back and find the spot to print my State return.
What's not so great: confusing transition from federal to state
