Been using TT since 2007. Love it! Should be able to file state for free as well. I did purchase the product.
What's great about it: Easy and step by step easily followed
What's not so great: Must pay to e-file state return
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

The program is easy to use. It is very well organized into sections. Importing information from last years return saves a lot of time and the year by year comparison reminds you of entries to do this year that you had last year.
The instant refund total at the top of the page shows the impact of different entries so you can plan more next year on what you do which will impact your taxes next time.
We don't have a state income tax but it forces me to go through that section and decline to file.
What's great about it: It is very organized in asking for information. The instant refund total is great.
What's not so great: It is kind of expensive for the basic tax filing.

Turbo Tax makes filling out the forms painless. I waited till the night before deadline and sailed through filling out the forms.

What's great about it: How it transfers all info from one year to the next, imports w-2's
What's not so great: be nice to be able to import all needed info,ie:bank interest,state refunds etc.
