Turbo Tax Revisited

This Deductions and Homeowners version features a fast set-up and fairly rapid path through all of the choices in doing taxes. The Question/Answer format is smooth and one rarely gets lost in the shrubbery.
The number of things to consider can be a little intimidating but the average user will quickly find the answer they seek and be able to move on through the sections expeditiously.
The checks and reviews provide a nice break and also some comfort when things turn out well. The number of forms printed this year is significantly less than in the past and that is good in itself.
All in all, a winner!

What's great about it: Easy format to follow; clear questions and intuitive choices of answers
What's not so great: Some times way more detail than the average user will need.

2014 software more difficult than 2013

Maybe it is just that the tax code has gotten so complex for 2014 but the Turbo Tax program was much more difficult to use than 2013 even though my fairly simple tax situation (income, etc.) has stayed the same. The "explanations" this time around compounded my confusion and I had to go to the IRS for their on-line help.
What's great about it: simple to e-file, nice that 2013's basic info pops up for 2014
What's not so great: not nearly enough explanation

Some questions appear to go on ad on. I wonder if you could have historical intelligence that would indicated a certain line of questions were inapplicable. The student loan stuff seems worthless. I know based on our gross income that there is no way we would qualify for anything so why ask?
What's great about it: relatively easy to use
What's not so great: 1099 G section was confusing for some reason

Turbo Tax = Quick, Safe, Sure, & Easy

Wished it was easy to compare last years return as we went before filling out this years.
What's great about it: Easy to use but not pandering to us non-tax accountants.
What's not so great: Kept finding errors with no explanation of what to change
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

So smooooth

I prepare my family's tax returns every year. Mine and husband's, Son's and daughter's and sometimes daughter's friend. Simple well guided instructions insure all of us get the right information to submit correct, concise and well prepared taxes. Thank you turbo tax.: )
What's great about it: Asks detailed questions which also jog the memory to be sure one gets the best refund possible.
What's not so great: Sign on is slow while it checks for updates.

Quick and Easy

Usually I file early, but this year had one disaster after another, and found myself completing taxes 3 days before deadline! TurboTax came through for me, and I have 1 day to spare. Thanks for your help!
