Interest Problem

I have been using Turbo Tax for a lot of years and each year I seem to struggle with some problem or another. I am going to look for a different way to do my taxes next year. Free Federal E-file is nice but lots of places have free Federal E-file, ridiculously high price to E-file State return. This year I could not get the interest to work right. Although I only had one interest amount from one place the state interest section kept asking me to fill out many lines. I would think I had it fixed and when I went to file the state tax amount owed would change again and again and again. I deleted the interest from Federal and State and started again but it was still a problem. Finally got around the Turbo Tax problem but not without getting a headache first.

Makes easy what's hard

I prepare two relatively simple returns with no pass-through entitiy K-1s, rental or business income. Turbo tax walks me through logically the items that I need to complete.It would be nice to choose only those items that I want to enter. I also dislike having to fill out the form at the beginning with contact information, which I presume is for marketing other products to me. On the whole, however, this product makes it quite straight forward to enter items of income and deduction. the structure requires thoroughness which is good. the language is non-technical and logical. There may be a faster way to prepare returns but I have not found it.
What's great about it: I like being able to rely on prior year information to guide my entries
What's not so great: I dislike having to go step by step so methodically even through items I don't have.

Taxes finished!

It sometimes is difficult to go back to some sections but I would be lost without this software, it makes this horrible task at least tolerable.

Love Turbotax and been using it for more than 10 years. This year's purchase and download of software (so important as it picks up last year's return info), was really hard to find on your web site. Please consider putting an obvious "Want to buy and download?" tag on your home site. Thanks!
And you guys have rocked my taxes for a very long time.
What's great about it: Excellent Software
What's not so great: Let me buy it easily - had to go to help to figure out how to buy and download.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

HDHP for 2013

For 2013, Turbo Tax did not clearly explain that HDHP health plans are standard with HSA. By selecting that our plan is HDHP, we would have earned almost $1000 more, on our taxes. Please continue to describe all the terms, and to continue to explain which ones are standard, common, non common.
What's great about it: I like that Turbo Tax maximizes my refund, and prompts me for all the applicable questions

Love Turbo Tax!

I've used Turbo Tax for 10 yrs, each year it gets more User Friendly. This year I completed my Fed and State Returns in less than an hour! The import of my prior year returns is a terrific time saver and the Help screens within the software are very informative! I'll continue to purchase the software each year.
What's great about it: Love the Walk Through Option!
