THE BEST

I have been using Intuit TurboTax, and it's predecessor, since 1987. Have continued to make the product better, each year, by leaps and bounds. Going to do your own taxes? Don't do it alone. Get TurboTax.
What's great about it: The ease of use!
What's not so great: None that I have run into so far!

Works well and much better than slugging it out with IRS bulletins and 1040 instructions. Explanations continue as pretty much understandable as the tax code gets more weird and confusing. TT seemed confused when I started with Simple then switched to Deluxe for itemizing - didn't use some small deductions 'because they don't count since you aren't itemizing' - but I was and completed using itemizing instead of standard deduction. The little guys never did show up......
Would be nice to have the Gov number and personal Pin captured somewhere.
What's great about it: Straight forward for a simple return
What's not so great: Seemed confused after switching from Basic to Deluxe version

Unhappy

I am completely unhappy with Turbo Tax this year so I am going to research other tax software for next year. It costs more than it did last year and it's not even worth the extra cost. I have repeatedly tried to get an update before completing my taxes, but I kept getting an error message. Disgusted.

i have used turbotax many years - took a small break but came back. as I stated above - I do not like scrolling down after each category is completed - should be able to see all after each section has been completed not after each category.
What's great about it: the ease and step by step process along with the info buttons on a subject
What's not so great: don't like having to scroll down after each category has been completed.

With just a little prep on my part having all the necessary documents handle this was a painless process. Thank you so much for having such a great program.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Turbo Tax

Was totally upset and frustrated with Turbo Tax this year. Very upset over all the hassles early on with removing Delux version forms and stolen returns. Found several errors that I just could not get to to fix - finally did after much work and anger. Not impressed this year.
What's great about it: Saved a lot of work
What's not so great: Issues over Delux forms, returns stolen, frustrating errors

quick and easy

It was very easy to use and made doing my taxes easy. The program found deductions I wouldn't have been aware of or thought about if I had done my taxes on my own. Using just the information I gathered before starting my taxes and what I thought my deductions were, I would have owed a pretty large payment. Instead, the program asked for some additional information that I was able to easily obtain and I got a refund.
What's great about it: Quick and easy to use. I liked that I could stop, skip ahead, then come back to different sections when I wanted.
What's not so great: couldn't auto-populate information from saved PDF of previous year's taxes, other years I could do this.
