Not as good as it ought to be

The software generally is helpful for getting taxes done, but does not let you know certain things until after you have entered a bunch of data. Since it's reading my last year's data, it should be able to determine that things that could not be done last year, probably cannot be done this year. It also does not always do a good job of retaining the prior year's information.
What's great about it: Gets the job done but not always clearly
What's not so great: Will take you through a bunch of entries and then tells you aren't covered/eliglble

DIFFICULT TO ADD JOB RELATED EXPENSES, HOME OWNERS HOME ENERGY IMPROVEMENT, AND LARGE ITEMS PURCHASED IS THE DATE AND TAX CHARGED REALLY NECESSARY TO BE INPUT?
What's great about it: FILLS OUT PROPER FORMS WITH INFO INPUT
What's not so great: SHOULD KNOW WHICH STATE IM AT AND KNOW IF I NEED TO FILE STATE TAX AND DOES NOT CALCULATE SALES TAX

Disappointed

I've used Turbo Tax every tax year since 1996. Worst one.
Navigation is illogical and you have to figure out "workarounds" for quirks--especially at the filing section. Nealry impossible to figure out a way to e-file feds and paper-file state.
What's great about it: Still better than doing it by hand
What's not so great: Interface quirks and glitches make navigation difficult

Consitently Useful

While this program continues to be on the cutting edge of useful every year, I find that when it comes time to organize my paperwork, it would be very helpful to have a printable checklist available for the detailed breakdowns of categories, especially the order in which they are going to be requested.
What's great about it: Guided step by step with explainations
What's not so great: Can't print screenshot
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Happy and Frustrated: Both!!

Overall, I love TurboTax--most years.
However, I am beyond frustrated at this moment. I spent over an hour trying to find directions for filing a paper return. To no avail. I gave up and paid the extra money to e-file the state. Very disappointed, TurboTax. In the past, I was able to print out a page that told me what papers to mail and where to mail them for state filing. Not so this year.
What's great about it: Import info from last year. Easy to scroll from page to page.
What's not so great: I couldn't find directions for filing a state return by mail.

Easiest, most thorough way to file your taxes

We've been using Turbo Tax for several years now to e-file our taxes and couldn't be happier. We know without any doubt that everything will be done correctly, and that we can get them done quickly. It is a relief not to have to "think" about every little deduction, or whatever, because Turbo Tax takes you through each category step-by-step.
It's worth every penny and then some!
