Sooo Easy...

This program gets better everytime I use it. I'll preface by saying that I have a pretty simple return to file but it does get more complex every year. This program has turned tax filing into an almost therapeutic experience - with an hour and a glass of wine or two I can get through what I used to consider one of the biggest hurdles of my yearly finances. My favorite part is the convience of transferring data from previous years returns. It has just streamlined the whole process in a great way.
What's great about it: Really quick - only took 30 minutes
What's not so great: A few offers that had weren't tailored to me.

2014 taxes

I have used Turbo Tax for several years - and I thought this year (2015, filing for 2014) was easier than last year. Even including changes to accommodate HSA and high deductible insurance.
What's great about it: Much easier than last year

Pay For State?

I like to use Turbo Tax, but this year has been the poorest for state return. Paying for more than one state? Paying extra to e-file the one free state? I'll be exploring another option next year!

The question format helped me to get the information put in the right place the first time. It made the process much easier.

Easy Return

I use Turbo Tax every year and I enjoy the program. But I do wonder about the programers at times. I enter my address as Florida and it keep prompting me to do my state return. So much is programed into the return there has to be a way when a client puts down a state that does not have income tax it quits that prompting. It is nothing but a pain in the you know what.
What's great about it: Everything was in very understandable language. No legal mumbo jumbo.
What's not so great: It keeps asking me to do my state return, Fl has no state. Program should know that.

TurboTax 2014

This is just a suggestion for making the software easier to use. I have used Turbo Tax for several years (ten I think), and I have always wished it could be more user friendly.
Specifically, when a topic (for example Income) is completed we just leave it alone and move on to the next topic. But if we ever want to look back into a completed topic (i.e., the Income topic) again to check a number, (whatever), we have to go through all the steps all over again. I understand that this repeat, step by step, is intended to protects us from making an inadvertent change. But that takes time and could possibly allow a box to go unchecked as we click quickly through to the end of the topic.
I wish we could enter into a 'VIEW mode', as opposed to an 'EDIT mode', for these kinds of information checks and reviews. In a VIEW mode I would NOT be able to change any numbers or uncheck any boxes, so I should be able to just exit the VIEW mode and return to the exact place where I had been in my progress, confident that nothing was changed. .
If I did need to change something I could enter into the 'EDIT mode' and then it would make sense to have to touch all the bases again to the end of that topic.
This is just a suggestion to make things easier and smoother during the data entry process. Thanks.
