Every reason to stay.

I've been using TurboTax for years with my first purchase coming on floppy discs. Each year it seems to get a little more sophisticated but continues to have great explanations for the uncommon items. I love that it imports the data from the previous year and from some of the financial institutions that I deal with.
I've never had a problem with the product and I've used both the basic and premier version. Yes, there are competitive products out there and while it's tempting some times to save a few bucks or just try something new, when dealing with the IRS, I'm not willing to mess with success.
What's great about it: Great guidance and explanations for terms you may not understand. Great at remembering and comparing previous year.
What's not so great: none

Great program!

We use this program every year and I would have given the program 5 starts but since we had to pay (for the first time ever), I just couldn't do it. The tutorials were easy, importing the W2's a snap, and filing online just as easy. However, we got hit with the AMT - alternative minimum tax! Additionally, our six kids couldn't be used as a deduction. I was hit when I transferred jobs and decided to cash out our 401k for much needed cash...and was penalized. We knew this and it was the lesser of 2 evils.
My 2 cents, unless you absolutely need your cash, do not cash out your 401k. Bite the bullet and roll it over.
What's great about it: Easy
What's not so great: Had to pay taxes
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I moved

Other than the question about military pension-everything was clearly understood and went smoothly so far - I am still waiting for IRS to accept-first attempt was rejected even though information and AGI was correct. This is second attempt. Hoping this goes through. Thank you

I was unsure of which version to buy based on earlier reviews, but bought deluxe version as I had done in previous years, knowing that I could upgrade for free if needed to get missing forms.
What's great about it: Similiar to previous versions of turbotax
What's not so great: seemed more complicated than past years

Pretty good, but still have minor issues

I've been using Turbotax for about 12 years now. However, when circumstances change from year-to-year (such as my wife no longer works outside the home), the system still keeps the old info and forms. Updating this info is not intuitive (to me) or easy. Even recognizing that the info is still in the system is difficult to determine. However, on the whole, Turbotax has been pretty good. It's better than using CPAs. My taxes are not that unusual. I grew annoyed with having to generate all the necessary calculations just so the CPAs could ask me what the figures are so they could plug them into their computers. Typing the info into the computer isn't the hard part. One of the turning points for me was when I found a mistake the CPA had made. No big deal. Then he threw my old tax form into the trash without shredding!!! I told him I wanted those forms because of the possibility of ID theft. His response: "Well, we've never had a problem before." That was the last CPA I used.
What's great about it: good step-by-step instructions
What's not so great: making changes from previous years' taxes is confusing

Please provide number examples or boxes. A balnk field can be a bit confusing.
What's great about it: The walk through was excellent
What's not so great: Not all of the data linked and common data had to be entered multiple times.
Pros: I bought or sold investments
