My family have been turbo-tax users for over 15years and every year the program get more user friendly and accurate.
What's great about it: user friendly
What's not so great: this years didn't offer transferring the previous years return info
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Disappointed!

I installed TurboTax 2014 Deluxe Saturday night 1/31 and in just a little more than a Star Trek re-run (streamed, no commercials!) finished my tax returns. This is with a child, a mortgage, interest, etc. No kidding - 1 hour flat! That was awesome and what I have come to expect from TurboTax.
BUT I get to the part about purchasing Audit Defense. I am STUCK - the system keeps saying I cannot connect to the internet to complete the purchase which is just silly - I had just installed the software, gotten updated and installed my state. Of course I am connected. But the system kept insisting. I was at a total standstill.
After searching the TurboTax help site, I decide to try uninstalling and reinstalling the software. I have mounds of trouble doing this and get this, I was an IT consultant for many years, I can use software and set up networks. Finally I decide to reinstall the software on another computer and there it works, no problem. Total time on tech issues: 3 HOURS!
So is 3 HOURS of tech time and a whole night ruined (when i should be baking scratch brownies for a Super Bowl party tomorrow?) vs. 1 HOUR to actually do the RETURN a fair trade.
I think not.
If this is the kind of problems I'm going to have when TurboTax worked seamlessly for me for more than 10 years, then I am done with TurboTax.
Very DISAPPOINTED.
What's great about it: Easy to re-use last year's data saving data entry; great walk-through of tax questions
What's not so great: Technical glitches

I started with Turbo Tax last year and it is the best software I have found. Thanks for making a difficult task as easy as possible.
What's great about it: Asked the questions in language you can understand.
What's not so great: Can't think of any.
