Unhappy customer

Do not require my e-mail address to e-file. I will use the check e-file status from the software. I don't want e-mails.
I found some of the questioning to seem deceptive. Like asking if I paid PMI instead of just saying what does line 4 have on your 1098 form. After I said yes I paid PMI then it asks for the amount on line 4 of 1098 form. I found a couple of other places like this that I am very unhappy about because had I not researched the questions and simply answered no to I would be paying lots more in taxes.
What's great about it: I was able to e-file
What's not so great: Don't require my e-mail address and don't ask if I paid PMI

Tips on how to reduce payment other than IRA

Doing taxes is a time consuming process. I find that turbo tax is good for me, it does all the calculations. I would just like to have access to a live chat for help when I have questions.
What's great about it: I like that I do not have to enter all info each year.
What's not so great: I have questions...I would like to do the live chat...

Double Payment Required

After buying two copies of TurboTax, (i lived in 2 different states this year), I had to pay two additional fees to file my taxes. It ended up costing me just as much as it cost me to have a CPA prepare my taxes last year. I will not be buying again.
What's great about it: relatively easy, asks pretty basic questions
What's not so great: double charges you, once to fill out forms and once to file
Pros: I moved

I've used TurboTax for a number of years. At first I was leery but they ask all the right questions, sometimes several times and always with explanations available. If you're savvy enough you can make the process shorter but I always want to be guided thru the process. And their Audit Defense is a real advantage. I've not needed it but am glad to have it, again just in case . . . TurboTax is a great partner.
What's great about it: thorough, understandable

What's great about it: quick
What's not so great: could not contact anyone via recommended websites
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Happy TOBEDONE

Even though I did not have my 2013 documents transferred from last year, due to the fact that I have a new computer, the ability to move from 1 question to the next was quite simple to follow. This year, doing my taxes was better than ever. Several people, who also use Turbo Tax, said they also found it easier to follow. Hooray!!
What's great about it: Easy to understand directions, easy and smooth flow of directions.
What's not so great: Used a new computer, so 2013 tax documents weren't transferred.

with all the bad that was said about TurboTax it performed perfectly for me as usual... still the best program as far as I am concerned.
What's great about it: Quicker review this year... and loved uploading the W-2 info.
What's not so great: I like to see the forms rather than listings while i am working my return

2014 return

Put a question at the beginning of adjusted gross income section, "Did you have a Parent Student College Loans? Y/N" Looks like a lot of people were searching for the answer on how to list it. This may cut down on the calls to you. If Yes then have them list it $. Let them go thru the rest of the AGI and they'll see it auto filled on their return. Thanks
What's great about it: easy transfer from Fed to State returns
What's not so great: Took to long to find the the answer for Parent Student College loans.
