Federal return Great, State return Horrible

Why does it say downloading state forms and program just quits? In "Deluxe" it says Ks filing is free why do i have to pay?
Then the program never completes opening or closing and its charging me 42. for another state document.

What's great about it: Federal great easy
What's not so great: State filing is a nightmare

What's great about it: The program flows from section to section easily and makes it more useful for us non-computer Geaks!
What's not so great: None

makes taxes fun

Been using Turbo Tax for several years and if this product didn't exist in an affordable format, I'l probably have a much harder time filing on time and as correctly as I have. Thank you -- it's also great to see the improvements made to the interface each year.
What's great about it: easy, actually pretty interesting, fast
What's not so great: sometimes a challenge to figure out how to go back to review or fix something

Better than so called Office Professionals

Did my last year's return with so called professionals was very disappoint with their lack of basic tax knowledge. so I purchased Deluxe version and answer myself this year. which is the same questions as last year but cost me less.
Suggestion : Make a package with state e-file included.

Always great

I've used TurboTax since the early 2000's and appreciate that the look and feel stays the same, so you stay familiar with how it works. It is thorough and consistently produces accurate results. No bugs or crashes ever. I appreciate how hard they work to deliver a quality product. Got my taxes done in under 5 hours this year, including calculating the value on thousands of dollars worth of (often quite small) items given as charitable contributions. I wish that the "continue" button was always in the same spot, for when you are quickly clicking through, but that also helps prevent clicking past what you need to enter.
What's great about it: Thorough, accurate, consistent
What's not so great: Some selections have to be re-entered when editing

Scared me & frustrated me

.. i dont have a business but we had to upgrade to process a simple royalty of $82! i finally did a Q & A to find that i could delete the 1099-MISC and just declre themoney as additional income.
The screen layout always presented 'continue' button below, off screen, and required me to constantly scroll down to click on ''continue'.
When I downloaded the CA State TTax, the download failed. Finally I rebooted and restarted and downloaded it again and it worked OK.
When I first installed TT i had not connected the old drive with 2013 TTax file, so no prior year data was found. late in the game i needed ;carry-over' so started a new tax file and browsed the external drive and it read 2013 TTax data; I then reviewed the forms and transferred the data manually to the first versions forms. A lot of work, I say!
What's great about it: very thorough
What's not so great: continue button was always off screen at bottom.

Appreciate the ease and service of Turbo Tax - doesn't make me feel stupid as I work through unfamiliar categories. Like the progess bar - shows the estimated refund/bill as you work through each section. Helps me to understand what to change for next year. This is my second year using Turbo Tax - will use again next year.
