Even my 2 year old sitting in my lap part of the time kept telling me, "Now hit the blue button! " to get to the next step. I liked the active links within each step for the opportunity for more in-depth explanation if I didn't quite know what form or deduction I needed.

Easy and Fairly Painless

There may be a way that I haven't found but I like to see my actualy return as I'm walking through it without losing my place in the questions. Once you leave the question mode, the only way to get back to the specific page you were on is to start the whole section again. Otherwise, it is easy to use and the cost is reasonable.
What's great about it: Very easy to use, just answer questions.
What's not so great: Being easy makes it more difficult to find specific items if you want to break out of the question mode.

Overall, TurboTax is a useful and simple-to-use product that I've purchased for 8 years. What was not helpful was the direction on Pennsylvania pension filing - the instructions were vague and incomplete, requiring my own research and assumptions - steps that I believe should not have been needed with proper TurboTax design.
What's great about it: General ease and process to follow.
What's not so great: State pension instructions

Quick and Easy Although I Owed Money

I've used Turbo Tax for over 10 years. I've always found it very reliable and simple to use. Definitely much easier than trying to understand all those forms by yourself.
What's great about it: Very simple to follow through the steps and has help files
What's not so great: Many options don't apply to a person filing single-could cut down my time by removing them

"It's Deductible" is a lifesaver

Have been using TurboTax since 1994 (20 years!) because of the ease of answering questions that are understandable vs trying to wade through the actual tax form. Whew, that would not even be a possibility now. I appreciate that Turbo Tax spells it out with "language of the common man", and that they give the IRS language as well (but sometimes that legaleze is so hard to understand).
I especially like that "It's Deductible" is incorporated right into the body of the program. This makes it so easy to take the list of items written down at donation, and have it converted to an actual deduction without any guesswork. Thank you!

What's great about it: Like that turbo tax has the "It's Deductible" info right in the program
What's not so great: sometimes I can't understand the legaleze

I found a few of the questions ambiguous. More than once I found myself going backwards because I had followed the wrong path (or misunderstood the question)
What's great about it: Importing W-2's
What's not so great: Does not remember enough from last years return.
