Simplifies a Bad Chore

I have been using TurboTax for many years now, and the experience has been improving every year. Having the "interview" format certainly makes the process easy.
There are a couple downsides to this. When it asked if we had teacher deductions, we entered the costs incurred teaching as an adjunct professor at a college. Luckily, we checked the instructions, as this deduction is only applicable to K - 12. I think it might be better to put those types of conditions in the questions the software poses.
The other problem to those of us who go back to enter more things is that, for some reason, the software "forgets" answers to questions in the same block after the page with the changed answer. So, for example, in the block on deductions, we had entered the deductions we could quickly find, and then went on and finished the whole block. Later we came back and entered more deductions, but had to go through the rest of the block again and answer the same questions, even though they had no dependency on the changes.
Even with those two very minor issues, the process is a whole lot easier than doing the forms by hand, and I wholeheartedly recommend this program.
What's great about it: Good instructions, if you look for them
What's not so great: Must look for instructions

I really liked the way I was able to do the entire process without having to hire a tax person. I short saled my home and although it took me a while to figure out what you were asking for - I was able to complete it independently.
What's great about it: Ease of use with forms and finding info
What's not so great: sometimes a glitch (probably my computer)
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Need improved interface between MAC and Windows

I love turbo tax... but between the time I ordered my Turbo tax and wanted to download to do my taxes - my computer died and I replaced my windows computer with a MAC and couldn't get a response from Quicken on replacing the windows version with IOS version without purchasing a new version even though I had not downloaded software. Had to find a windows computer to do my taxes on and couldn't import my prior returns.
I have been using Turbo Tax for over 10 years... and it is great...just wish the windows to ios transition was smooter.
What's great about it: Turbo tax is great.... easy and fast
What's not so great: challenging to transition to MAC

Least unpleasant tax experience

filing income tax is a most unpleasant task but Turbo Tax gets me through it with the least pain. The step by step process gives me confidence that I have not overlooked something that will cause me harm or the wrath of the IRS. Retrieving prior filings automatically is great and makes me come back to Turbo Tax year after year. I tried the online experience but I bought the CD software because the online did not inspire confidence. I didn't like it as well as the CD.
What's great about it: Ensures I look at all tax issues, saves & retrieves data, good prompts
What's not so great: It's taxes!

Easy to Repeat

TurboTax is great for ease of importing information and giving helpful hints and things to look for or look at again. If you are an organized person and keep your receipts and tax forms, you can definitely do your taxes yourself with TurboTax!
What's great about it: Once you've done TurboTax, it's easy to follow what you've done in the past and update with the new year's numbers.
What's not so great: None
