Turbo Tax

I had been having a tax professional do my taxes but all he was doing was using a program to do the same thing I have done with Turbo Tax. Figured I's save the money. TT was easy and gave me great confidence that things were done correctly.
What's great about it: Easy and straight forward

Faster and Less Painful than an accountant

I've been a TurboTax user for a very long time. My spouse argued with me about it until we decided to compare TurboTax to his accountant. TurboTax found more deductions and got us a higher refund. On top of that, it cost a lot less. Needless to say, we don't use that accountant any longer.
What's great about it: It was fast. It was thorough.
What's not so great: Could have had more clarification of special deductions and income
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

I think this is the best one yet I've used. So much better on information about options when filing.

Tough time this year

I've used Turbo Tax for years. But with a change to "Retired", I did not feel like the program was very helpful.
What's great about it: Software easy to use
What's not so great: Life change, had a tough time interpreting the questions, and "Help" was no help--
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

SLOW-SLOW-SLOW

I have used Turbo Tax for many years (>20) and until this year found it to work very well. I don't know what you changed Turbo Tax people, but if it doesn't get better next year, it will be my last. The program is terribly slow doing calculations and does not inform the user that it is processing the data. Please, please, fix the problem.

I love TurboTax, have been using it for years, but this year I would have been somewhat lost at times had I not been familiar with the program from past years. While the detailed walk-throughs were still there, they weren't as obvious as before, and easy to miss.
What's great about it: User friendly interface, helpful explanations
What's not so great: Not as easy to follow as last year
