Good to Have

I use TurboTax in order to do my taxes myself late at night. It's easy to use with the one exception: the Guide Me Through option is good for making sure no tax-related thing is missed and bad for getting taxes done quickly.
What's great about it: Easy; Intuitive

First Time User

This is the 1st time using ANY tax software. So all the aggravation of downloading forms, instructions, and publications was gone. Gone too, were the calculator, scratch paper, Excel, and whatever else I usually use to calculate the best return.
I usually calculate itemized deductions just to be sure whether I should, or if the standard deduction will give me a better return.
Everything I needed was right here. Even imported my W2. Yep, sat right here in my easy chair and never moved until I was done.
Including installation time, I probably saved at least 30 minutes over my usual time-spent with this "chore". However, if you know in advance that you will not be calculating itemized deductions, you probably won't notice much of a net time savings. But the lack of headache and aggravation was nice. I can attest to the accuracy, too, as it calculated my return the same as I did manually (same end result that is).
This is also the 1st time I used eFile, so no envelope, no trip to the USPS. Done! Looking forward to how quickly I receive my refund.
What's great about it: Simple, Easy to use, Step-by-Step, Complete with all work sheets and calculations

Painless Process Year After Year!

I've used TurboTax the past 9 years to do my taxes. Every year it gets more user friendly and more painless. I feel comfortable using TurboTax that I'm completing my tax return information accurately. Granted, I don't have anything too complex to deal with on my taxes anyway - standard stuff like house and kids.
What's great about it: remembers information you used previous year

Customer service makes up for it with quick and friendly response, and waives the state filing fee.
What's great about it: Quick and efficient
What's not so great: E-file hangs up every year; "payment session timed out"

Not a CPA

I have used Turbo Tax for several years. Every year it gets better. On-line help is excellent. I like all the "Explain this." information available for all of the sections and questions. This was really helpful in helping me decide how to answer the questions as to whether something applied to me or not! I will continue to use Turbo Tax in the future! Thank you!

Great But Need Clarity On The ECN

I already applied for the Healthcare exemption and received an ECN number in the mail. However, there was no place to add the exemption number nor did Turbo Tax ask if I had one. Granted, it did determine that I was exempt from the fee based on my income, but I would have prefered to still enter my ECN number in case there was a problem. Please include a field to key in the number next year. Thanks!
