Just not the same

Appropriate information from previous return (mortgage points paid, loan detail, etc.) do not transfer over. Just blank. If I have to start over each year then I'll go to another program.
What's great about it: walk throughs
What's not so great: everything needed doesn't transfer over

Better Every Year
on April 11, 2015

I can depend on Turbo-Tax. It accurate, easy to use, and provides all options I need. I have used it for last ten (10) years. And as long as it continues to retain it's prior reputation, improves the product, and it's functionality I'll continue to use Turbo-tax.
What's great about it: Ease of use
What's not so great: None I can think of.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

Just an observation

I would like to see an easier prompt for filing that is accessible for filing state returns, instead of having to go back and print for review, your state filing forms. During the final prompts, just before submission, it would cool to see the filing options set up in a manner that allows one to file by offering these choices:
Do you want to EFile your Federal and State return forms?
or would you rather
EFile your Federal return and then print and mail your State return? After you submit the Federal Efile, you will be prompted to print your State return to mail.
Then offer the option to review, print and save forms.
What's great about it: It holds your information, without worry of losing information, if changes are needed
What's not so great: Prompt for filing state taxes

Yeah! Taxes Done for Another Year
on April 11, 2015

I've been doing my taxes with Turbo tax for over 10 years and I have been extremely happy with how easy it is to file my taxes.
My only gripe is that extra e-filing fee for the state, at the end of the return. I would much rather pay more for the program when I purchase it, than to feel I am being nickled and dimed after the fact.
What's great about it: Very easy to use
What's not so great: Additional e-filing fee for state return

Disappointed this year

I'm a long time user of Turbotax. This year, it did not import my basic information from last year, including my mother in law's, whose return I also file. Had to type in all the info again. Also, Turbotax supposedly files free federal and state returns for those who have AGIs under $31k, as my mother in law's is. Turbo allowed me to file and e-file for free for her federal return, but not for her state return. False advertising or unclear directions?
What's great about it: Automatic calculations and reviews
What's not so great: Didn't import last year's returns and wouldn't allow free filing for MIL's state returns despoite advertising to the con
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Good but not perfect

The W2 input section assumes right away that you are a wage earner, rather than retired. So all the questions about the W2 are confusing, and could lead someone (like me) to start filling in info from my pension statement, which is the wrong place for that. You need to state up front that if you have no wages to report, or are retired, you should skip to the retirement income section.
What's great about it: Mostly easy to use
What's not so great: Don't like the initial w2 unput section
