This is the first time in years that we've prepared taxes ourselves, having recently retired, so I appreciate that TurboTax made the process much easier. Generally, the TurboTax interaction is first rate. However, I had to wait to review the forms at the end in order to understand the capital gains tax effect on the taxable income. Also, the website led me to believe that one state tax return was included for free with TurboTax Deluxe, but I was charged an additional fee at the end. Further, it would be helpful to determine the need to file in another state (where the income was earned, rather than the state of residence) earlier in the process. There were several cautionary notes about checking for this before the program determined that it was not necessary.

What's great about it: I don't have to wade my way through numerous and confusing instructions that I would swear were written in Greek.

What's great about it: Effective Q&A approach; ability to move between pages to edit entries; free federal form submission
What's not so great: cost for state form submission
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

What's great about it: Everything is calculated for me, and I like how it shows that I' almost done.
What's not so great: I don't like having to pay a 'refund processing fee', that's a joke.
