I would NEVER have thought standard deduction....TT saved me lots of effort and MONEY! ENUF SAID - I'M DOGGONE HAPPY with TT's work!
What's great about it: QUICK - hey, relatively - you still have to type in the numbers. BUT it's all there for you - TT even asks you for each
What's not so great: huh? it can't get easier unless you don't file. Then you'd be in jail - more hassle than it's worth, just sayin'.

I have used Turbo Tax for years and the only disappointment I have ever had is the taxes I have to pay. Obviously I like filing taxes this way since I have been a customer for years.

2014 Turbotax

Overall I thought the program was very thorough and asked the right questions. Sometimes it is intimidating when it talks about form numbers with alpha extensions. The process flows smoothly and does take some time to ensure accuracy.
What's great about it: Easy step by step progression
What's not so great: A bit scary when it talks about from numbers.

Easy to Use

I have used Turbotax to file my state and federal taxes for the last 3 to 4 years and it has been simple and relatively stress free to get my taxes done. Great program overall and I'll continue to use this software for more years to come.
What's great about it: Less than 1 hour to file federal and state
What's not so great: Certain things were confusing
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Sales Tax Deduction

Resident of Washington State: I was expecting some question about sales tax deduction. Given an income bracket there has been (in the past) a "standard sales tax deduction". For any out-of-the-normal range of purchases my sales tax climbed to $1,096 for 2014 above the standard sales tax deduction of the past. I had heard on the radio that such "above-and-beyond" deductions would be important to include yet Turbo Tax didn't ask any questions about it.

2013 and 2014, 1040 Returns

This is an excellent service. My only issue is I purchased the option to file 5 previous years forms and thought it said I could download it from MyTurboAccount, but I don't see the download options. I am sure I will eventually find it.
What's great about it: Quick, easy, efficient
What's not so great: Having a hard time pulling up the 2011 and 2012 - 1040 forms to complete

Easy Use

The only problem I have is that when you buy the product in the store it doesn't say that you have to pat to file state taxes later. Other then that it is simple and easy for those with simple tax returns.
What's great about it: Simple and easy
What's not so great: Doesn't say what you have to pay for if you buy in store.
