First time user. My wife & I have used a tax pro for the last 19 years, and thought we'd try T/T this year for the first time. Saved ourselves probably $250.00 between the costs associated w/ all things turbo tax, and costs associated w/ a tax pro. Very few hick-ups in using TT. Mostly organizational issues. However this year, my employer issued a second W-2 form, which gave us a couple of "re-do" items. I will use T/T in the future.
What's great about it: innumerable

generally speaking, this is a much easier to use re-write of last years addition. lost are the bugs that plagued previous years. it still requires scrolling for a modicum of data to be presented, did we forget to use full screen in the test lab?
when i was attempting to preform what if's, it refused to show me schedules and said i must upgrade to premiere to continue even after i canceled, odd that...
that upgrade ain't gonna happen, if you want to provide a disabled vet on SSD a discounted copy, then sure i will buy premiere... i can pay the costco price but no more, dont be greedy. you know that there are companies that will do my taxes (which are easy) for free, if you want to forget about we vets, go ahead - your not the only carp in the pond...
What's great about it: easier than previous years, now if you can stop the scrolling...
What's not so great: you wanted more money for some reason, kept telling me i needed premiere but deluxe worked fine...

As an example of the above con statement, I receive 1098E forms each year for a nephew who I can no longer claim as a dependent. The education loan was taken out by me in my name and for several years I was able to claim it and now I cannot. In addition, I clicked on the wrong 1099 form (1099T) and this is what I trouble with. I never ha problems in the past.
What's great about it: It is easy to follow Turbos' instructions.
What's not so great: It is difficult to remove or delete items once you click continue. Once in the drop-box the deletion oes not take.

Easy except for Glitches

Problems with prior year's deleted info coming back (auto and home no longer used). Includes children as dependents who are too old to be dependents. Errors in importing It's Deductible info when multiple items total over $500 - considers it as ONE LARGE donation that you just can't fix. Aside from the frustration of trying to fix these things, everything was pretty easy!
What's great about it: Quick and easy to use
What's not so great: Difficult to fix glitches

this is the fastest way i have found to file my taxes that doesn't require a paid preparer. the program checks for any irregularities or mistakes and makes sure they are fixed. I have used turbotax ever since i first found it.
What's great about it: quickly walks you threw only the steps that you need.
What's not so great: North carolinamakes you pay outside of the program

Complexity made Simple!

Almost made the experience of doing taxes enjoyable. Tax information suggestions from previous year Turbo Tax edition helped me get close to my goals on paying taxes.
What's great about it: Most confusing tax change year ever. Turbo Tax made it simple to understand!
What's not so great: Did not like having to pay for state filing, especially since it was more than stated on the box when I purchased.

It walked me through our taxes with explanations that I could understand. Having used Turbo Tax in previous years, it was a real timesaver to have information brought forward to the current year.
