I find turbo tax to be very focused on the areas that require attention and provide all the assistance that might be required.

They don't like to turn you loose unless you give more money. The charges they want for using a credit card is excessive, and extremely excessive for state returns. If you decide not to e-file for the state, things get fairly complicated and it takes awhile to straighten out. This is worse than last year and I doubt if I use this service again.
What's great about it: fairly complete return
What's not so great: Doesn't save any time and fairly expensive for the service they perform.

Worked Fairly Easily

All in all, everything went smoothly. All incomes and almost all deductions were covered thoroughly. One major thing missed was the pertinent information on personal IRA contributions being whether or not box 12 on the W-2 was checked or not. This concerns being covered by an IRA or 401k at work. One other problem was that the fee for e-filing my state return could not be taken from my state refund, only federal, which required me to use my credit card. Other than that, efiling went smoothly.
What's great about it: Went through just about all of the things I needed
What's not so great: Could not find the correct information concerning contributions to a personal IRA.

After I signed in that's when the aggravation started! It's way too difficult to find my product to download. It used to be much easier to navigate the website. Once I finally found out where to get my downloads the actual software was very easy to use. A great product but a very cumbersome process to get to it!

I will not be using Turbo Tax next year. Even though you say you can e-file, nothing is said about having to pay extra.

My husband had never done anything with the taxes. This year he tried them. He doesn't have any background in taxes and was able to complete our taxes very easily.
