Once again this year's treatment of the Federal civil service CSA 1099R is impossible to understand and work with. It does not handle calculation of non taxable amount when box 2a is 'UNKNOWN'. You cannot enter a calculated tax deduction manually. and it does not provide understandable assistance. Also, crashes on SEARCH multiple times.
There is no option to print out part of the tax return, 50+ pages wasted if you make an error.
Note: I used a professional CPA last year, and Turbo Tax for a decade prior, and there is still no easily workable treatment of the Federal Retirement 1099!

I have used this product for years but this year I missed sales tax deduction and it wasn't until I went through my return for the 3rd time that I caught the fact that I missed it. It gave me $300.00 back on my return. Need more checks at the end of the program to make sure people don't miss crucial deductions.
What's great about it: very organized
What's not so great: doesn't alert you when you missed a category.

Easy to use and understand

We have used Turbo Tax for several years and it has proven easy to use and understand. Much of the data needed to complete your tax return can be imported automatically. The software walks you through many forms and possible deductions and provides easy to understand information about each one. Can't imagine filing taxes in this complicated tax environment without it.
What's great about it: Easy to use with lots of helpful information easily accessible
What's not so great: Charges fee to electronically file state returns

Very convenient, easy and straight-forward. Been using it for years, and I don't see myself doing it any other way.
What's great about it: It's like having a Tax Professional in front of you.

I've used Turbo Tax for years...and have never found an error in it. But, it seems that every year you change the format slightly and I can't find things that I'm used to using - like the option to go directly to a Federal form.

Easier than Last Year

Product was a lot easier to use and the questions were more accurate and applicable.
What's great about it: Very Simple to use
What's not so great: Takes awhile to go through the question
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Quick an Easy

Been doing my own return for 51 years. No more reading IRS rules, forms and worksheets. Should have done this years ago. Then had to file state form. Took a miserable weekend. Always put it off till last week or two. Just a couple of hours of no pain!. Next year I can just import the basic data and BAM !!! I AM DONE! Thanks Turbo Tax.
What's great about it: Easy time saver.
