Good mostly but not for foreign income

I had a little foreign income this year for the first time. I went to a university for 2 days to serve on a PhD defense committee. The experience was worthwhile, and I got all the information needed from my "employer" in Sweden. The way that TurboTax handled the input was confusing. It kept saying that my US income was my foreign income. Also, the checking routine indicated an error in the 2555 form, which I didn't even need. I ended up going to the forms directly and trying to puzzle my way through. This is a very simple case, and TurboTax didn't do so well. Hopefully, you will correct this matter in the future.
What's great about it: All the usual stuff was nicely handled, saved time, got the savings
What's not so great: Wasted time trying to figure out foreign income input

Quick & Easy

Overall it was great! Easy to use, and quick. I had no problems skipping entire sections using the guided input. you use to have to do it your self if you wanted to skip sections & if you used the guided input it would take you through every question possible. I finished in half the time this year!
What's great about it: Sections made it easy to bypass many areas, super quick
What's not so great: Entered & reset password multiple times, which it would not accept.

Awesome Product but 1 concern

My Security software and computer kept telling me that a vulnerable SSL version was trying to establish a connection and was blocked. I finally figured out what was going on and that my system was not set to allow A TLS connection. I spent a good amount of time trying to figure this out and then was concerned about the software I was using. Not sure why TLS is used but if a better option is available why not use it. Thanks.

They blew it this year and ALMOST lost me

I have used TurboTax for about 18 years. I have found it to be easy to use, easy to navigate and accurate. The whole strategy of dividing up their previous products and, in essence, charging you more was very nearly a stopper for me. I almost purchased H&R Block, but based on some reassuring emails I figured I could get what I needed if I needed features from the old deluxe version. I do find Turbo Tax to be a great product, but they need to reevaluate their pricing and product strategy, or, they may well lose loyal customers.
What's great about it: SOOOOO easy to use, so easy to import prior year's return
What's not so great: the new product pricing strategy was really a BAD idea, and it is more expensive than the competition

new retiree-401K worries gone

excellent, retirement 401k rollover, 1099-g, and other 1099's for temporary employment handled with ease. Even made me remember quarterly tax payment i made and had put in wrong folder. if you don't use this you are costing yourself money, time and peace of mind.....PS--this is from a guy who was a finance manager for 45 years...
