Easy and speedy

This is the first year I was able to use TurboTax without any glitches. I was debating if using it again and I'm happy I did. As in previous versions it has links on every step to explain what you are doing and to connect you with informative pages. I was impressed when, due to needing more documents I had to stop and continue the next day and the program opened automatically where it left before without jumping around. Every single detail was covered and at the end it checked everything like four times. Something strange that happened was when I completed everything I printed a copy of all the documents. Next the program continue to check and right at the end before filing it asked to check again. I thought it was not necessary but when I did I saw there were five pages that were not included in the previous revisions. So...check page by page on the adobe windows all the times. I like the electronic postmark certification of electronic filing document with the date and time it was submitted and the fact that once the IRS accepts the file the date will be provided by the Intuit Electronic Filing Center. Very convenient for records safekeeping.
What's great about it: You don't have to do it in one sitting.
What's not so great: Charges for filing should be less.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

TURBOTAX 2014 REVIEW
on April 4, 2015

I am normally a big fan of the TurboTax series but this year's version was just plain awful. First it refused to load my personal info from last year (I specifically save it from year to year for tis reason). It said it couldn't find myprevious yrs data but I found it in My Documents and it did not provide the "Drag & Drop" option. Booo!
What's great about it: HELP DIALOG BOXES ARE MORE DETAILED THIS YEAR
What's not so great: DESCRIPTIONS FOR MAJOR POINTS OF INTEREST ARE TOO CONFUSING.

2014 TTAX REVIEW
on April 4, 2015

Would really like to see improved 1098 section that covers a very common situation. Parent pays for child's education with savings from 529 or equivalent. Who files forms, student or parent.
What's great about it: Ease of use, import feature from previous years and W2
What's not so great: Lack of clear definition of who files 1098, forms student or parent.

Hope it is correct

I did not do return in one sitting. I always saved before closing. Sometimes, upon reopening, it would take me back to the beginning. Also, I kept all charitable contributions on Its Deductible, but had to reenter them on return, there was no way to upload. very irritating. It also showed a local tax payment carry over that I don't recall entering. It asked me to make a correction? Maybe it pulled it up from last year's return. I checked through all my records and had nothing to account for this. Also, when I tried to put in correct date it would not accept it until I finally closed the program and reopened and what do you know, it was there.
What's great about it: Same as always
What's not so great: Navigation

What's not so great: have to pay to file state
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Local Taxes Should be Separate
on April 4, 2015

It didn't start and re-start like it did last year so that's a plus. I still want to be able to review and modify local/city taxes separately. You have it bundled with the state taxes and its difficult to review and process. I would e-file my state taxes with you guys if I could do my local taxes separately so this means you are losing money/income. I've mentioned this in the past, but...
What's great about it: It worked smoother than last year
What's not so great: I still want to review local/city taxes separately
