i have used Turbo tax for a number of years. it helps me review my returns and make any corrections before filing. Because the CA state tax was not included this year a number of problems evolved for me. The biggest problem was that returns could only be completed on the computer I originally had Turbo tax correct and add CA state tax information. I previously was able to help my niece using her computer so she could review before filing. We were not able to load on any other computers. Please make sure the state tax is always loaded on the disc. thanks

Easy and seemed thorough

Saved 80% of what I spent last year on tax preparation, and received a larger refund. AWESOME!
Straight forward questions help get the forms filled properly .
itsdeductable online is a great tool. if used all year TBTax will import all donations next year into our return.

Best Refund Available!

I have used Turbo Tax for at least 10 years. It guides me through each step completely. One thing that I really appreciate is that the software seems to find every deduction possibly available so that I pay the least amount of tax for my situation. I plan to continue using this software.
What's great about it: I like everything about Turbo Tax
What's not so great: I haven't encountered any "cons."

Fearing the worst but saved a bundle.

I've been using this "Expert System" for taxes for many years and have never had a problem. Some years the quality is a bit better than others and this year was very good considering all of the changes with healthcare and etc.
Being able to refer to quality explanations or IRS source documents at your fingertips is very helpful and a source of comfort and confidence..
I couldn't find any reference for Qualifying Charitable Contributions for Arizona. Form 321. But, even the state database didn't have the form or explanations either.
What's great about it: Confindent in tax preparation
What's not so great: Have to be intuitive at times like on default sales tax projections being based on income only. I had receipts.

for security reasons i like to download the program, disconnect from the internet, fill out all the data, save return to a PDF file, print it, then log out of my account. But for some reason this year turbotax requires a connection to the internet to perform all these steps (specifically to save return as a PDF). there is no need for this!

Great System

I have used Turbo Tax beginning starting in 1991. Even when hiring a tax accountant, I still used Turbo tax. He simply reviewed my turbo tax forms. No changes.
The accountant does not offer tax audit protection. In 2010 my taxes were audited. The defense fund kicked in and saved me thousands of dollars in legal fees. After months of detailed reports, the IRS actually ended up owning me money.
Great fan and big time supporter.
Just wish the online version came in a box. I love filling all the paperwork in the box. The mailing envelope is just not the same.
But the tax filing software is great either way

What's not so great: When you buy on line -- No box to file away.
