What's great about it: walks you through every step
What's not so great: asks for updates, even after you buy/load the latest version of software.

Turbo tax has been easy for me to use since I filed for divorce to keep costs low and file quickly, and my refunds have been just as quick.
What's great about it: walk through all deductions
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Always Easy

I have used TT for over 10 years and never had a problem. I love that all my information is carried forward from year to year. Would highly suggest keeping charitable contributions up to date using ItsDeductible.
Filing electronically is fabulous. Since everyone will file in at least one state, you'd think there would be a way to include one state filing fee into the price.
What's great about it: Questions are most helpful
What's not so great: Unneeded questions are a PITA

Only One Issue

Hello..I have been using Turbo Tax for a few years now and continue to like it. This year, though, I was not able to print the face sheet entitled File By Mail Instructions Sheet that was available last year. It was helpful information about the return and also the directions on how and where to mail the return. I was not able to find the address I am supposed to use. I did have last year's available with that face sheet and was able to get the address there. If you could please look into this, I would appreciate that for next year.

I think I did well with this tax return.

This year was once again a good experience in preparing my return. The organization of questions and data requests are very good making it difficult to make a error. The error checks are very effective in getting all things correct. The electronic E-files are painless, except for the filing fees, of course.
I plan to continue with TurboTax next year, if the complete filing cycle goes as well as preparing my return.
What's great about it: I liked the thoroughness and multiple checking for errors.
What's not so great: None I can think of.

Tax Frustration Fighter

The hardest part about doing taxes is collecting & gathering all the info documents & receipts required. The easy part is going step by step the through Turbo Tax Program. The only other hick up is when the program ask you for information from a previous years return by line item. If you transferred last years return to this years working return; shouldn't this years program already know that information?

What's great about it: Easy to follow directions & questions. The step by step method allows you to complete the task without missing an item.
What's not so great: Can't access the calculator while in the supporting statements mode & input totals to line statements.

Federal Forms not generated for print

Turbo Tax is a great program. However, for at least the last three years, a program error prevents the creation of a federal form 1040EZ for printing if person has zero income and standard deductions. The mailing instructions are produced providing individual instructions for mail instructions for the federal 1040EZ form, but does not provide the form. The state portion of the program does produce both instructions and California 1040EZ form for mailing. This is probably not the right route to report a software bug, but I am not clear how else to make Intuit aware of the problem.
What's great about it: Complete walk through and explanation of tax requiremetns
What's not so great: Federal forms not generated for printing if no income

Easy to use even in my first year of retirement

I was nervous about using TurboTax Deluxe for our first year of retirement with all the changes that happened during the year. I'm happy to report that the process was easy and painless!
