Not fair

The fees are outrageous for the filings for both state and federal in todays electronic age. I will not use this again, if I have to pay so much next year! I might as well hire a tax person with those types of fees!
This is especially bad for the poor person (me) who is doing this on my own because I CAN'T AFFORD A TAX PERSON.

Beat the deadline

The only problem was I could not locate my 2013 return. I opened 2012 but turbo tax did not recognize it. Had to type in all of the information before proceeding.
What's great about it: very clear instructions
What's not so great: lost 2013 file & could not extract info from 2012 return

Overall I achieved the result I wanted by maximizing my deductions but it was not without some work-arounds and additional research on my part.
I was disappointed that to import Its Deductible Data required some programming on my part to correct an issue in TurboTax. It wasn't easy to find the help topic and it was even more difficult adapting the help topic to function in Windows 7. But, it was achievable.
The Kentucky state section lacked quite a bit of explanation as to what qualifies as a long term care premium or what constitutes a recycling recoupment credit. I found I had to go to my state website to get further explanation as well as ask an expert.
Overall I found TurboTax 2014 a little less user friendly than in previous years and I would like to see a little more effort towards correcting software issues as well as greater explanation towards state tax exemptions/credits, etc.

REALLY Quick and Easy tax filing

I have used Turbo Tax for many years now. I used to do tax returns from scratch and would spend a week or two and that was after I had gathered all the forms and instructions needed. Understanding tax regs. is not a fun job unless you are an accountant - Turbo Tax takes the stress and strain out of it.
Also now it is easier to switch between forms and guided tour so you can make sure what is on the forms is correct - something I should have done in a prior year.

What's great about it: Import bank info, investment info, W2, last years info from prior Turbo Tax tax return.
What's not so great: Can't really think of any in particular except that no matter how you do it filing taxes is not fun.

Impressive

I would recommend TurboTax to anyone. It is fast and easy to use. You can do it in more than one sitting and it keeps everything for when you come back. It has gotten me more money back 4 years in a row than the tax preparer I know who has done my taxws as a favor to compare. Thank you TurboTax. I know you will be used next year, also.
What's great about it: Simple to use and step by step had me getting deductions I wasn't aware of.

Why use anythign else?

This is the ninth year that I have used Turbo Tax. Each year it gets easier to use and navigate. It helps me make sure I am maximizing my deductions as well as paying what I should. I am not sure why a person would use any other electronic program to file their taxes.
What's great about it: Ease of use and manuverability.
What's not so great: none.

Confusing in certain places

Could not enter my 1099-misc information to Turbo Taxes satisfaction. Had to file by mail and still don't know if it is correct.
