Terrific Program w/Room for Improvements

The one thing that I found this year was that I wasn't able to print out the forms that weren't being used in my tax return. When I went to forms and opened up Schedule A to print it out so I could work on it manually, I wasn't able to print it which was very frustrating. I wanted to do a rough estimate of my itemized deductions to see if I came close to being able to itemize rather than go through the easy step process. In the previous Turbotax programs I was able to go to the print menu and select forms to print. I didn't find that in this year's program. I was also very disappointed to learn that I had to go up a level to be able to use schedule D. I hope you will go back to including it in the Deluxe program that I have used for years.
What's great about it: Easy to use, easier to get to tax form sections, thorough

Tested My Patience!

I've used TurboTax for years and have never been so frustrated and disappointed as I was with this 2014 version of 'Deluxe'. It was as if it had a mind of its own. You know better than I when the final update came out so I'm not sure if every update that forced it's way through was different...
but I have a feeling...
and it was not fun this year.
What's great about it: I was able to complete my return
What's not so great: It took me four tries to get it done due to the infernal auto-update feature wiping out my previous work

Very quick and thourogh

I thought it would take several hours to complete my taxes. Start to finish, it took 2 hours and 5 minutes. This even allowed for searching for two lost documents. When I've done my taxes on paper, I've spent that amount of time just calculating everything repeatedly to assure accuracy.

I don't dread tax time!

We are repeat users - 7 years now and there's just nothing to dread! TurboTax takes the guesswork out of tax time, and is very easy to understand. Step-by-step instructions reassure that I'm entering the proper information, and that I'm not leaving anything out that may cause me to be audited otherwise!

It even works for retirees!

Entering the information is the easy part. Separating our carefully filed paperwork into the categories now required by the tax code was a bit of a pain.
What's great about it: As simple as the tax code will allow.
What's not so great: The tax code is not simple.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Too complicated for a simple situation

Continued to insist on using a # when there seems to be none additional state or employer number, even once corrected by removing zeros. Would not allow printing, then continuing without insisting on cloud backup.
What's great about it: accurate arithmetic
What's not so great: "Error", Had to wait for updating.

I found using the software to be very painless. All subjects are thoroughly gone through.
I would not do my taxes on my own without Turbo Tax, the whole filing process is a royal pain without it. Government changes are easy to miss and this software takes care of that.

I could not get my 2013 returns pulled up on my new laptop. I filed the last 4 years on my other computer. Could not compare to last years returns. I did not know that turbo tax was limited to a specific computer rather than my file.
What's not so great: I used another computer to do my 2013 returns....my 2014 returns had to be filled out as this was my first year.
