Updates

What kind of software forces you to update but there's always an error? Turbo Tax does!!! I bought the 2014 Deluxe software to file my taxes, and half through my deductions I get an error message. Turbo Tax informs me I need to update the software, and I did, and the error still comes back. What is that about? This is a first and maybe the last experience for me with Turbo Tax. Never again!!!!
What's great about it: Simple and Easy
What's not so great: Stupid Updates does not work
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Fairly Straighforward for "Vanilla" Return

All in all, a good way to self-prepare a return that doesn't have few, if any, 'non-standard' situations. There were a couple of questions which could be interpreted in different ways, so some investigation was required to determine what was being requested. Not too difficult, though. At least my wife and I are still speaking to each other after completing the return.
What's great about it: Question / Answer method of creating return
What's not so great: One or two instances of interpretation issues

TurboTax is a great product. It is easy to use, it explains every tax situation and it compares last year to this year. It looks for uncommon tax situations that may apply to you. Overall, a great product and should be used by everyone.

2014 Tax Returns for Federal and State (Virginia)

Concerned there may be an error in Turbo Taxes Virginia tax calculations as refund reduced by 1/2 after state review for 2013. Refund again appears too high. Reviewed forms but cannot find reason for such a high refund (usually around $400.00). Turbo tax may need to review their Virginia state returns. I will notify you if refund is reduced by state again this year for 2014.
What's great about it: Easy to use...like being guided through the process.
What's not so great: State refund was incorrect last year and reduced by 1/2 by state. Concerned same may occur this year 2014.

Easy Refund

It was very easy to do my taxes this year. The only trouble I had was with the healthcare tab, but that was cleared up with a quick phone call. Turbo Tax rocks!

I've used turbo tax for many years now. I find it easy to follow and use. I would recommend it to friends and family.
