Bad start to the 2014 Tax season

Huge disappointment when I first started 2014 taxes and software requires upgrade to PREMIER to do the same taxes that DELUXE had done for 10+ years! Major stubbed toe for TurboTax. The lame apologies and "deals" to make up were also lame. This hurt Intuit's image and value in my opinion. I will vote with my purchase next year, but if the "upgrade" is required, my vote will go in a new tax products' coffers.
What's great about it: ended up with same TurboTax experience as darlier years
What's not so great: Bad start with required "upgrade" for 2014 taxes

Turbo Tax Easy to Use

I have used Turbo Tax for many years with great success. It is thorough and easy to use. In the last couple of years, I have had some difficulty with my particular state tax return, partly because of some nuances related to retirement income in my state. If I go to my state IRS site, I can file my state return for free.
What's great about it: Thorough and easy to use
What's not so great: Some states have specific forms needed for filing with return. Easier to go on specific state web site to file for free

Tax Prep Uncomplicated

Information is carried forward from previous year's filing with Turbo Tax so typing is greatly reduced. Also one can load data from financial institutions to further reduce data input and reduce errors. Comparisons are made with prior year's input so as to assist one in checking whether something was mis-entered or overlooked. Great tool that is easy to use. Filing electronically is a breeze.
What's great about it: Guides one through all the necessary questions without being excessive. Additional clarification is available in popups
What's not so great: Print copy of Connecticut tax not in format of form and is difficult to read, but then who reads them!

Another good experience. Initially had trouble getting on internet to file. Just waited a while and kept pushing "continue" until it finally signed on.
What's great about it: Easy to follow
What's not so great: Didn't alert me to sales tax deduction possibility.

Turbo Tax, A Good Experience Overall

I have used Turbo Tax for a number of years now and appreciate the convenience of having all the forms I need in the software and the reliability of the math checks and reviews. The installation process should be easier and more intuitive.
What's great about it: It does the math and fills in the forms.
What's not so great: It is not friendly to install.

This has been a great experience, it was so good getting back into doing my returns myself, you have made it so exciting. could not have been easier and was so much fun
