Year 12 with TurboTax - It works!

After using TurboTax for the last 12 years, I have to say that I am entirely pleased. My taxes aren't that complicated - Deluxe with State covers all my needs. A refund every year! I like the audit review, too.
What's great about it: Combined with Quicken (starter edition) I'm done in less than 6 hours.
What's not so great: Not really

Its OK

Doing my taxes with Turbo Tax is always easy. The User ID login recovery just fail because it only did the email confirmation with the code, but nothing on the secret question/answer. I was still locked out. Luckily I didn't need it to finish e-filing my taxes.
What's great about it: Always easy to do the entries with helpful information
What's not so great: Failed to reset my previous User ID login

Better Every Year

This gets better every year- a lot of years things don't change much when your in your 40's........make an easy 5 min snap shot option (ie -follow last years forms/highlights (W-2/1098-E/property tax/1098,etc) and ask for the new numbers from the present year. This could take 10min. instead of the 30min answering every odd-ball question.

It would make it easier if the next item came up upon returning to list of file items.
What's great about it: Quick and easy to follow.
What's not so great: When returning to list of file items you must always scroll down to the next item.

I always keep going back to Turbo Tax year after year and every year I tell myself not to do it the next year, but I do. Gets the job done but it is a long frustrating road.
What's great about it: Can do at home, walks you through each step and explains it.
What's not so great: too many updates that take forever. too many different versions and confusing on what product you really should be usin

Love that my previous year's information can be imported from previous tax return. I would recommend that you have everything ready before starting a return so you don't have to continually go back thru documents.
Be sure to write down your user ID and password because it's easy to forget after a year. Easy to use and file electronically.
