But got good help by phone from Tocarra at help center and she patiently helped me to make corrections.

4th year filing w Turbo Tax

Hi,
Fairly easy, make sure you have registrations for cars on hand all 1098s not sent to you, and your turbo tax password to e file more quickly.
Doing these helpful steps before hand allows you not to leave the program to retrieve the above docs.
What's great about it: Easy to file step by step process
What's not so great: Make sure you have your password and 1098s to speed progress

Really quick, easy, and painless to get both Federal and State done. Electronic filing makes it so simple. I use to dread doing my taxes, now it is no big deal. Thanks.

TurboTax trials

I don't like tax time so I'm happy to have a program that allows me to complete this necessary evil in the comfort of my own home. Unfortunately, I had to upgrade my computer just so I could use it (why couldn't it have been backward compatible with the older Mac OS?). Once I started the program, it was simple. On previous versions I've been able to review previous pages and return to where I left off but this version didn't seem to have that capability and I missed it. Finally when it was time to save the return there was no option to save in the tax based format that allows it to be imported into next years return. I am not comfortable saving my personal information in the "Cloud" even though many people are.
What's great about it: able to work at home on personal laptop, tax software was easily followed
What's not so great: excessively promotional for cloud based service, had to upgrade previous OS

Lost Return

I liked the improvements in the ease of use but after I entered all the income information and part of the deductions information, the program hung and I had to hard boot the PC to get out of it. I lost all of the information that had been entered! In addition, it did not pick up an error in the amount of SDI entered until I went to electronically file. I would have thought it would be picked up during the review since the typo was for much more than would be allowed for SDI contributions.
What's great about it: Ease of use
What's not so great: Didn't find an error with SDI until went to file electronically, hung and I lost the return after entering all income

relatively painless

In the future will need further information about supporting adult (son age 41) who is disabled (has been living with us since October 2014)
What's great about it: relatively easy to use; information literally a click away; generally understandable terms
What's not so great: questioned additional fee for processing electronically
