I like the ease of use

Overall I like doing my taxes with Turbo Tax
What's great about it: I like the question and answer format
What's not so great: Sometimes I seem to get in circle and have to get out and redo things

where's the SECURITY?

I have used Turbotax for years, but won't use it again. I had a fraudulent return filed in my name, and now I am paying the price. This is a major problem when your most sensitive financial information can be hacked.
Because of this, I am required to file my taxes by mail now, this adds time and expense to my filing. This also means that I will not be using the e-file options that I paid for with Turbotax.

Overall, TurboTax is very easy to use. Most of the requested input is well defined. However, the home office section needs more help content. It was not very clear what deductions were allowed and how to enter the information. I found the instructions to be somewhat vague and needed to use Google to find more info.

Excellent Service

I had been procrastinating because of computer issues and messages from Turbo Tax informing customers of problems and fixes. I also invested money for the first time. So I wasn't sure how everything was going to work out. I was so happy to see that I could import records from my financial advisors. That made the process even more pleasant. Thank you.
What's great about it: The process was not complicated and I was prepared for the worst.

A big help but one change took bloom off the rose

TurboTax is a lifesaver for those with more than an EZ return. It even caught my return of overpaid 2013 Unemployment Insurance paid back in 2014. My only gripe this year was the change in It's Deductible. Previously one has been able to enter your own description and evaluation for an item not in their unimproved database within an existing donation. This year you had to enter a new donation for every item you assign a value resulting in a lot of tedious data entry that resulted in the expansion of my charitable donations forms to 22 pages! A horrible experience. Fixing that back to its 2013 and before approach would make me very happy.
What's great about it: How anyone could do this on their own I don't know
What's not so great: It's Deductible changes made charitable deductions harder than before

I purchased the Deluxe version on CD. The install worked but after the automatic update it failed. Went on-line and found another person with the same obscure error message and followed the directions given by the support group. That got me started and I completed the Federal taxes quickly. But then I got into a continuous loop when I tried to download my state taxes - they would not download. Spent nearly 2 hours on the phone with Bill in support. He was very professional and eventually got me the free state download and it worked fine from there.
What's great about it: When it worked it worked very well
What's not so great: A 2 hour process was actually 4 hours
