Help me find an alternative to Turbo Tax!
What's great about it: copies our previous year info
What's not so great: poor print selection, interview leaves few navigation options, charges to file state returns.

Used Turbo Tax for Years!

I recommend Turbo Tax to all my friends and family, even those who have a Tax Preparer or Accountant. It allows you to see exactly how they work. It is also a double check.
What's great about it: Easy to use and very informative.
What's not so great: none

2014 turbotax

Did not pick up import from banks, etc completely.
Five phone calls back to the USA for upgrade, and to add state return software.
Could not file out of country.....had to return to USA to do so.....
Major pain this year.
What's great about it: import from last year's filing

I have used Turbo Tax, and MacinTax for about 20 years now and it is a very user friendly program.
What's great about it: I liked easy step and also to be able to enter directly
What's not so great: some of the items that were listed in Easy Step don't and never have applied
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Its deductible on-line. Not so useful

Overall, Turbo Tax is great for completing taxes. Have been using the s/w for decades. Only issue I have is with the ability to make additional entries (different dates) to the same charity utilizing "Its Deductible On-Line". Ended up having to make all entries directly into Turbo Tax, causing a bit more time than required.
What's great about it: Turbotax easy to use. Most questions lead to correct entries
What's not so great: Some category questions a little hard to understand

refund problem

Filled out all the info to pay for Delux version---next tried to fill out payment to have AZ tax taken out of my Fed return...it kept turning it down because the user was already taken so cost me extra. Will probably not use next year!
