It was very easy going through the tax return with the step by step by step guidance.
It gets cumbersome at the end when getting pin numbers and paying for the filing of the state return.

Excellent - If only the State was good as Fed

The federal return is excellent and improves each year. The state return (Missouri) has very few explanations. I trust it is done right and comprehensively as the State has never complained, but I would prefer close to the level of detail of the Federal.
What's great about it: Ease of use; covers everything; compares with previous years
What's not so great: State return calculations are not nearly as clear

Still very good, but...

I experienced a bit of buggy behavior when starting the program. Importing last year's taxes caused my entry to be duplicated and nothing else happened until I clicked on the duplicate.
What's great about it: Still very systematic and thorough.

Completed My Return!

The only problem I have had with Turbo Tax is printing the forms for records.
For the last two years for whatever reason I cannot fit my hard copy forms on 8 1/2 X 11 inch paper because the printer cuts off the last two lines of the document. I have to print on 8 1/2 X 14 inch paper. I have never had this problem since using Turbo Tax over the past 12 years.

Cancelled Debt

Had cancelled debt but really difficult to find help figuring out if excludable. Had to go to Forms then go down to Other Income and click thru 3 forms to get to Worksheet. I realize this is a tricky issue but why not help me first and then recommend professional advise instead of hiding the workout.

overall, it is the best way to do your taxes. It is simple and inexpensive. before I retired, I used turbotax to do federal and three states.
What's great about it: eas self guiding
