Now, I want to say that I do like this product for what it does. The hand held system is terrific for the everyday use like sealing cheese and meats with the bags. I have liked this system so much that I am now on my third purchased hand held sealer. With this being said, the problem I have found is that the battery life is short. This is the reason I have purchased so many of them. The batteries are NOT replaceable and this basically would have to be considered a disposable unit. It does NOT work when plugged in either, it is not wired that way. If I knew how to rewire the darn thing to work on direct current I would. So the rechargeable part of this is why I am rating this so low. I would rather have it where it just plugs in the wall and works. I like the system overall for what the intended purpose is for.

I have had this since 2015 and love it. I see where it's not keeping charge for a long time now. Must be wearing out. Will get another one. I read one of the reviews that said you take it off the stand, use it and then put it back on the stand. There is NO stand for this item. I don't know what she was talking about.

Thanks for being a long time FoodSaver fan! We recommend charging the FreshSaver the first time for 24 hours, and any time after that the FreshSaver needs to be charged for 6-8 hours. You can buy the base separately. Check it out by following the link below:
