Bought a couple of these about two years ago and now neither of them hold a charge long enough to remove the air from a gallon bag. Rather disappointed. They worked well initially. Not so much now.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

After a while, the battery becomes unable to hold a good charge, so the device poops out after only a few uses. The switch seems cheaply made, and needs to be pressed hard to activate the device. Buy it on sale and hope for the best, or use another device. (Vacuum pumps designed for servicing auto brake systems can do a much better job of air evacuation, but require some creative (easy, but creative) adaptation.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I've had my handheld for a couple years now and keep it right on my counter. It's so handy to grab when I open a bag of cheese or lunch meat. I can just quickly reseal the zipper bags for the next day. I also use it to quickly reseal my foodsaver containers. Just a wonderful little tool!

I LOVE this hand held sealer. And love that you can open and reuse the bags! I can get a large bag of salad, and reseal and vacuum it without it turning brown overnight! I can do this multiple times with no problem! I got the two for one deal and keep one at home and one in the RV. Super easy to use.
