Okay unit.

I find sufficient toner to print beautifully, yet the printer won't let me continue to print at my descretion, stating it need to be replaced. I didn't have that problem with my previous Brother printer. I should be able to use the toner until I determine it is empty. Toners are not cheap and it is a waste of money to replace when there is still adequate toner left in the cartridge.
Also, the manual feed doesn't grasp the paper evenly all the time and reprints are necessary. I find that it is slower that my previous unit. I am thinking that 2-sided printing slows the unit down. I would not purchase another of any brand that prints 2-sided after this experience.
My last Brother lasted almost 6 years. It was a great printer. I didn't replace 'apples with apples' so I want to be fair. I would recommend this printer. It is a good value. I should have purchased something more similar to what I had.

Handy, fast, and good quality

Bought this not realizing it was not wireless, decided to try it out. It works great. And the fact that my computer is now wired to it is no problem. Makes it even handier to use. Starts fast, pops out copies faster. Great little printer (and double-sided too).
I would recommend this to a friend!

Excellent printer for the price. It is fast, and print quality is excellent. A bit noisier than the last Brother printer, but at least $300.00 less expensive, and quality of print every bit as good.

Reliable

Best B&W printer ever at a great low cost. Superb quality prints, send your print order and it turns itself on, prints the job, then turns itself off. Easy peasy! What more could I ask for? Oh yeah, more copies per ink cartridge than you'd believe possible.

Paper holder replacement

When I replaced the paper tray the printer worked for a while but broke down later.
I ended placing a wedge at the rear of the printer so as to raise that side of the tray.
This seemed to solve the problem. It does reoccur if I happen to move the printer a little bit.

Power Switch

To turn the printer off you must hold the power switch for about 4 seconds or more. To awaken it, same thing. As near as I can tell this is not covered in any manual or instruction sheet. I almost returned the printer because I thought the switch was defective. I think this should be spelled out more clearly!
